If Twitter allows it to go out to all accounts within a geographic area regardless of following, then it works. Otherwise there needs to be a huge press push to get people to follow the Emergency Notification Service.

Funny I never even thought of setting up an Early Warning News station because the fact is Twitter and FB are my global news sources for stuff like that.

Not only do you find out quicker, you then get to take part in sounding the warning to others. You get to have a hand in helping, changing the world, really.

It is important that word spreads about the need to monitor the situation so when a real threat warning goes out people get it right away.
