Scheduling Posts

Using social media to share and express your thoughts is as rewarding as it is entertaining. Whether you’re a startup, mid-size business, or a huge corporation, there may be times when you can’t be on your mobile or computer to be active in your social sphere. To stay on top of your game and multi-task your online and offline activities, schedule your messages and let HootSuite do the work for you. Scheduling messages you want to send out to your followers is also a great way to keep your information updated and timely. This way, you can send out a post for a time when you’re not plugged in to the world wide web.

Here’s How

  1. Type the message you wish to send in the Compose box, then click the calendar icon.
  2. A calendar will pop down and you can set the date and time  you want to send your message.
  3. Next, choose the social network you would like to send the message from.
  4. Then click the Send Now button to schedule your post.

I’ve been scheduling tweets and Facebook updates over the past two days. The tweets work like a charm. The Facebook updates become scheduled, sit in the queue and vanish at the time of publishing. They never post to Facebook and there are no messages letting me know there has been an error. I’ve seen some buzz on twitter that this feature is not working. What’s up?

My Facebook updates have been behind but I heard Facebook had issues.I love the service.

    Thanks Casey Mahoney Brad P

    Love you guys.

    *** Request ***

I really, really, really wish that “Drafts” were
a stream (column) just like pending tweets are,
instead of that awkward drop down.

Or at least in addition to!

They were be soooo much easier to manage that way!

I am a paid user, recommend you all the time,
and I’ve been requesting this for almost 2 years.
    (Before you even had drafts)

    Thank you,
    Tony

PS: Drafts in the mobile apps too please!

How do I schedule EVENTS for Facebook?

  5. Laura

I have created prescheduled tweets on hootsuite, but I want to make them post on facebook as well. is there a way to add a social network without recreating each tweet?

    • Andy Au

      Hi Laura,
There certainly is – Select multiple social networks when you’re creating your tweet/facebook update. They’ll post to both.

Be sure to keep in mind the character count at the bottom left of the Compose Box.

Any way to schedule tweets in the Hootsuite iPad app?

  7. Hannah

Hi, I am using the hootsuite iPad app, but can’t seem to find my scheduled tweets. Please can you point me in the right direction? Thanks.

    • Jordan Behan

      Hi Hannah,

The iPad app does not support the Publisher view at this time, but there is an open feedback request for it here: http://ow.ly/f6obs

If you would like to see pending scheduled tweets on your iOS device, you can do so by adding a stream for each twitter account called “Pending Tweets.” I hope this is helpful while we work on making the app more robust.

      • Dean

Pending Tweets – that’s nice but no way to easily edit the update. Just copy/paste/edit and delete old update. Right? or, am I missing something?

  8. Devin

Is the publisher to view/edit scheduled tweets available on Android?

  9. Darko

    Hi,

When i scheduling link to facebook page I want to schedule it without message text because Facebook now shows lagrer post on home page if you share link without text.

Is it possible to enable this option?

I started using Hootsuite I have 40% less visits from facebook with text above the shared link.

    Thank you
