HootSuite 2.0: the professional Twitter client

Everything looks great. Lots of useful features and enhancements. So good job! But, could you bring the “individual stats” icon back. Changing back and forth between Streams and Stats is no fun :(.
Cheers,
Marius
CONGRATS on Launch DAy releasing HootSuite 2.0: the professional Twitter client, to the public!
its awesome guys!
Would be nice to see an indication of future pricing level to see whether this has legs going forward.
Hootsite is amazing! Thanks for bringing additional organization to my life. =)
It’s amazing, simply… amazing.
Blows most, if not all, twitter clients out of the water.
The only way I see other apps surviving is by the convenience of being on a phone, or on the desktop.
Flat-out love the new HootSuite. The new tab feature, the multiple columns and team workflow are fantastic new features that help our company manage our multiple twitter presences.
Thanks HootSuite!
As a web developer wow. You guys have created a web application that looks and feels like a desktop app. Love it.
How long is it going to keep telling me that I upgraded to HootSuite 2?
@Ted Husted
There was a quirk with my account. I changed my email recently but used the old one to login, and it kept taking me back to old.hootsuite.com. When used the updated email, it worked fine.
Version 1 was great for my old Win98 platform. Version 2 has lots of good features but is a nightmare — way, way, way too slow. If I cannot revert to version 1, I will default to Splitweet, which doesn’t have tweet scheduling, but is VASTLY easier to deal with. Any chances of me reverting to version 1? I really liked version 1. (Don’t tell me to upgrade. I like Win98. Fix the problem.)
Love the new HootSuite, guys. Fantastic. It’s such a pleasure to use. Now I have a couple of suggestions. You’ve made it possible for multiple editors to use an account. It would be really cool to be able to have an approval process for tweets. Like I could submit potential tweets to a client whose twitter account I’m managing with notes included and get their approval before publishing. That kind of “approval-publishing” process would be a cool next step!
Really enjoying checking the new HootSuite out! Fabulous so far. The Group Stream/Column is SO easy to use!
Question: Is there a way to get facebook updates too? I wouldn’t need tweetdeck or seesmic if there’s a way to get facebook updates.
We don’t like the idea of having to tweet about HootSuite 2.0 in order to upgrade to the new version. We don’t think our follower’s and members of our organization would find much value in such tweet.
Already I hate the upgrade. The reason I choose HootSuite instead of Tweetdeck ws precisely because it DIDN’T look like a deck. I hate this design and want to go back to the old format. Can I please revert to the former version? Otherwise I’ll stop using Hootsuite and find something else.
Where are the Pendings? Where are the Sents? I can’t find them anymore. Those were your most useful features, in my opinion. Please respond.
Great release except “individual stats” isn’t working. My owly click-throughs show up on summary stats, but tweets newer than July 28th don’t appear on “invdividual stats” tab.
Thanks HootSuite for the time and investment. Your Twitter solution is running away from the useless social apps on the web. Great features, wonderful value!
Where are my Pendings? Please tell me how to find them. Also, where are my Sents? Those were very useful functions to me. Have you done away with them or are they just hiding? Please, I want to use those functions again. I don’t know what I have scheduled or when since I moved to the new HootSuite.
Got a review of HootSuite up at: http://www.blogaloo.com/it/intergration/schedule-tweets-with-hootsuite/
=)
What happened to my favorite functions, Pending and Sent? Surely you didn’t eliminate them. Please tell me where they are hiding. How can I keep track of my tweets without them? And why do you continue to delete my critical but polite comments here without answering my questions?
Looks good guys and certainly appears to be better than any other similar product I’ve seen.
Just one additional request … I tend to have multiple columns on the go and would like to squeeze them all into one view … so your adjustable column slider is good, but it doesn’t go small enough for my liking. Can we make it do miniscule as well?
Or is there a better way of using HS and many columns?
Great product! However, I’ve upgraded my account and keep clicking the ‘You have already upgraded
to HootSuite 2.0, Please visit http://hootsuite.com to start using HootSuite 2.0′ prompt, which I click only to go back to the homepage to login again and go back to the old site to be greated by the prompt again. Is there a secret (or obvious) way to log in that I’m missing?
(sorry for posting this here, did not know where else to ask)
I just opened a hoot account due to a post from lifehacker. Very impressed by the layout. I’m not getting the group tabs to update consistently. Is there a delay after setting up the account before things start to smooth out? It will load a groups tweets once, then when I go back to it, there’s nothing and I have to refresh 2-3 times before it responds and loads the tweets again if at all.
Thanks for all the praise!
@Bill — an “approval” queue is something we’ve been thinking about. Feel free to suggest features on our Get Satisfaction forum: http://getsatisfaction.com/hootsuite.
@Philip — I think we’ve fixed this bug. If it’s still happening for you, go to http://hootsuite.com/logout to log yourself out, then log in again.
@Caleb — We’re having some issues due to countermeasures Twitter took in response to the DDoS attack they had. We’re working with them to resolve this asap.
@Stuart — That’s something we’ve considered. Thanks for the feedback.
@marilyn — You can add the Sent and Pending columns to any tab. Click “add column” choose “profile feed” and then select Pending or Sent from the drop down.
@Steve — The issue with individual stats should be fixed. Thanks for the bug report.
@Amy — Have you checked out the Ping.fm integration? You can tweet to Facebook through Ping.
@G — The “Tweet the Love” requirement is a special promotion for early adopters. Anyone who wants a sneak peek early upgrade to HS 2.0 needs to send a tweet to do so. In a few weeks, we’ll be opening the new version to everyone and you’ll be able to upgrade with no tweet required.
@Larry — Sorry, there’s no way to revert to version 1.0. All users will eventually be moved to version 2.0 and we won’t be supporting v1.0 any longer.
We realized that the new version might be slow on very old OSs / browsers, but we wanted to create the most innovative and useful interface we could. This meant using ajax and other advanced javascript/CSS.
We are thinking about creating a simpler interface w/ reduced functionality that can work within v2.0.
Great app! Just switched from TweetDeck.
A few suggestions though:
- I’d like to see an option to hide tweets that have been seen before (also dm’s, mentions)
- The page title should include the number to new tweets (e.g. “HootSuite (123)” = same as “Google Reader (123)” for my RSS feeds.
Are there any plans for international versions? Maybe I could help to translate some elements into German.
nice work, cool new features. but the klicking back and forth to access individual stats is a huge pain! PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEASE bring back the instant-stats button!!!
I’m in the market to find a new Twitter client. I came across this post. I have never heard of HootSuite till now, but it looks like a great tool. I will have to check it out and I will be sure to Tweet about it to my followers if I find it useful.
Will the blinking owl ever return to your design interface? I miss him.
Do not like the layout of “pending tweets” on the new version. I have several weeks of pending tweets set up and find it much harder to organize them with new version. Also, there are a lot of buttons that delete all pending tweets, and it has become way too easy to accidentally delete all the articles I have spent time compiling. Any way to get the original layout back so that I can see pending tweets in that organized column? Thank you
Thanks for sharing Paul – we’re listening and working on strategy to make everyone happy.
