See What’s New

In the newest version of the dashboard, we’ve added to the existing Stats to give you over 30 measurement and analytics tools, all accessible from a handy sidebar within your dashboard. Fear not if you’re a fan of the Stats as they’ve always been — they’ll live in the new menu as Quick Report functions.

New Social Analytics in the HootSuite dashboard

Use modules to build reports with HootSuite Social Analytics

Now, all menu functions live in this new spot on the dashboard. Our cute blinking-owl has flown from the nest (we’ll miss that little guy), which means you can access everything from the Launch Bar: Analytics (formerly Stats), Contacts, Settings etc. will all be available right there.

Get Started

Using the custom reports is a snap. Simply click ‘create report’ and select any one of the modules listed in the Launch Bar to plug them in. The report will start building before your eyes with colorful, interactive graphs and charts. Or, select your modules from a drop down menu at the bottom of the report.

New Reports from HootSuite Social Analytics

Build a report from scratch, or start with one of our pre-made templates

To top it all off, you can create a custom header for your report by uploading your company’s logo. Your name and contact info will automatically be attached to it based on your HootSuite account details too.

Give it a title and change it any time you need. Choose the size of your title, add a paragraph for you to preface your report, and choose the size of that too. Reports are totally customizable!

Customize and Automate

The custom reports available in HootSuite Social Analytics are designed to be as nimble as you are. This means that as your Social Analytics requirements shift, the reports can adjust to your changing needs.

For example, you can:

  • Edit at any time
  • Change the date range
  • Create a print view and export as a PDF
  • Save reports using labels for easy sorting
  • Automate delivery to team members for the most up-to-date analytics

Once you’re done, you can share the report with any registered HootSuite user, not just team members! Send as a PDF only, or allow them to view the dynamic report. And you can view all of your shared reports any time from the dashboard.

Reports For Everyone

Owly for learning and sharing factsThe huge-ness of HootSuite Social Analytics is available to all HootSuite users. So if you’re flying with a Basic free plan or you’ve kicked it up a notch with one of the premium plans, you can rock out in style with these eye opening reports.

Each module will be assigned a certain number of points — so the more complex reporting modules may require more points than the simpler ones. The type of plan you’re on will determine how many points you can use, and you can opt to purchase more credits if you need them at any time.

Try it out and see how versatile reports can be. Basic users who want to see more can upgrade to Pro and get a free 30 day trial with unlimited access to reports.

Can you please clarify this point system? my account says i have 50 points. i attempted to create a report, it says ive used 40/50 points, so to create an additional report i need to purchase points… correct? but at what price? also, is this a recurring fee? a one-time charge? some detail on how this really works will be appreciated.

NB.. I’m a PRO account holder, with two team members

    thanks

also, for the FB Insights option… i would love to see an option allowing to select the date range… it seems to be set for the current period. i’m needing at least a 6 month (months i select) for review

    Love it!

Can we see pricing for the points? I just mocked up my dream report, and it was listed as 120 points, but I have no idea how much that costs!

This looks awesome, HootSuite. Going to give it a go now. Very exciting!

In the Quick Analytics section, we now have to find and enter ow.ly urls in order to see individual message statistics. This seems like a horrible change. Now we have to go back through our sent messages and copy and paste a url in order to see how many clicks it has received? What was wrong with having a list of the most recent messages like before?

Also, as a Pro user, I read we get 50 points per month for reports. Does a report use points only on initial setup? or will one 50 point report use up the 50 points each month?

    Thanks for any feedback!

      @Nick,

Totally agree with you on the individual message statistics! Twitters tweet a lot. And it’s a huge pain to have to go through them all individually and copy/paste to get the statistics. Would LOVE to have that feature back!

You must have read my mind as only yesterday I was looking for tools that would help me to build Social ROI. It’s important to me, and my clients, that I’m able to prove the value of the social networks to their business. Are you planning to add any other features in the coming weeks/months, for instance I’d be particularly interested in first touch analysis and reporting against specific goals achieved, without having to try to figure out how to get Google Analytics to work effectively.

Wow these reports look pretty sweet. I imagine social media folks will be happy to have something tangible to share with their team.

I especially enjoyed the video — can I ask how it was made?

I posted my comment before there were any comments posted and it still says it’s awaiting moderation. My comment asked valid questions.

I just upgraded from a free account because these reports look awesome! I created a new custom report, but none of the features tied to my follower account are working… any idea why?

I’m getting error messages on my reports (Twitter Follower Growth). Can I report an error and get my points back?

  12. Erin

I use the web interface, and the announcement for the Analytics keeps popping up every time I load the page. I close it every time, but I’m beginning to find it rather annoying and aggressive.

I hope someone else has noticed this already. Would you be able to fix it so I only need to close the window once?

  13. kenoma

Guy just upgraded to a pro account and i have bene trying to create a report but keep getting this error message.

error – 404 – An error occurred with the TwitterCounter API, please try again

Each time this happens, my credits are taken and now i have lost all credits wihtout getting any reports, please can this be fixed and my credits given back to me..?

The article says, “Basic users who want to see more can upgrade to Pro and get a free 30 day trial with unlimited access to reports.”

How about current Pro users? Do we have a chance for a 30-day free trial with unlimited access to reports?

I’d like to explore the various reports and see more specifics to decide the utility of the reports to me.

Why can’t you export to excel any longer? I like to report month of month trends and can not longer to it with the new platform.

Rich Harris chimes in on HootSuite’s latest:

“Since HootSuite was already pulling in data from your tweets, Facebook Insights, and Google Analytics, building out their own reporting system to leverage all this data for customized reports was the next logical step. Their first foray into this is nothing short of awesome.”

    Good job, Hootsuite!
