HootSuite iPhone users rejoice! One of our most popular requests on the Feedback Channel is now available for the first 10,000 users to download: Push notifications are available in a private beta for HootSuite for iPhone and HootSuite for iPad (v2.4.0). We’re starting with the first 10,000 users who download the latest version of the iOS app, and will release to everyone in the near future.

What will push notifications mean for you? Depending on which HootSuite plan you have, you will be able to receive alerts on your iOS device for multiple Twitter accounts, including mentions, direct messages and more.

As HootSuite continues to optimize our suite of mobile apps, the addition of push notifications will serve as an important step in developing similar features for our Android and BlackBerry apps. Get the latest version of the iOS app, free of charge, in the App Store.

Looking in the rear view, 2011 was a watershed year for us as the HootSuite community soared from just over 1 million sign-ups at the end of 2010, to more than 2.7 million by mid-December – nearly tripling our userbase in one year.

Guided by your feedback and ideas, we’re proud to see how much of our road map we’ve covered in the past year with numerous iterations and integrations and we’re grateful to enjoy your continued support on this journey. Our international Owls continue flying around the world to meet HootSuite fans in every corner of the planet. This time, they have spread their wings and have flown to the East to proudly announce the release of mobile apps translated to Russian, Indonesian and Turkish.

Indonesian for iPhone/iPad, Android and BlackBerry

After celebrating two successful HootUps in Jakarta and Bandung, our friends in Indonesia continue to receive good news from HootSuite Headquarters. With the release of the Indonesian translation for all the HootSuite supported mobile devices, the owls of the huge archipelago will be able to enjoy HootSuite in Bahasa Indonesia on their iPhone, iPad, Android or BlackBerry devices.

Our owl Stephanie Wiriahardja has been working diligently as the Indonesian language coordinator for this project. This translation was also made possible by the invaluable collaborations from @irfanmk, @vincent_smoox and @mrlette.

What’s the next step for our Indonesian fans? The dashboard!
