0.5 selfie
A 0.5 selfie (pronounced « point-five selfie ») is a selfie taken with a smartphone’s ultra-wide angle lens.
Popular among Gen Z social media users, the 0.5 camera’s fish-eye effect results in distorted selfies with exaggerated limbs and disproportionally tiny bodies.
Since these selfies can only be taken using a smartphone’s back camera, they’re harder to frame (users can’t see what they look like while taking the picture) but tend to feel more « candid » than a traditionally posed selfie.
