Blockchain is a distributed ledger and database that individuals control to share and store information online.

The main data stored on a blockchain is cryptocurrencies which is stored in groups (known as blocks), instead of in files and folders like regular databases.

You can only add to the blockchain, unlike other databases where you can add, remove, and edit data.
