Bluesky
Bluesky is a decentralized microblogging platform developed by Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey. It allows users to share short text posts of up to 300 characters, images, and videos.
The platform offers two main feeds: “Following,” which displays posts from accounts the user follows, and “Discover,” which highlights trending content.
Bluesky operates on the Authenticated Transfer (AT) Protocol, an open communication protocol designed for distributed social networks, allowing users greater control over their data and online interactions.
Initially accessible by invitation only, Bluesky opened to the public in February 2024. Since then, it has experienced significant growth, surpassing 20 million users by November 2024.
