Millennial pause

The millennial pause is a short delay before speaking at the start of some videos, most often observed in Instagram Reels or TikToks created by millennials.

TikTok user @nisipisa coined the term in 2021, but it gained popularity after The Atlantic‘s Kate Lindsay wrote an article about the practice in 2022.
