Viral marketing
Viral marketing is when content spreads rapidly from person to person, much like a virus, usually through social media. The goal is to create engaging, emotional, or useful content that people want to share naturally.
For social media managers, going viral is highly desirable because it’s a low-cost way to quickly expand your reach. If your content connects with your audience and is easy to share, brands can generate buzz and attract new customers quickly.
But while social media managers are often asked to “make something go viral,” audience reactions aren’t always predictable, and viral success can’t be guaranteed. Viral content is often the result of a mix of timing, relevance, and audience engagement.
