A greater number of US creators on Instagram can now earn money through Badges during their live streams.
Badges essentially let viewers “tip” creators during an Instagram Live. Users can buy badges, which appear as hearts, for $.99, $1.99 or $4.99 US. The badge then appears next to the viewer’s comments during the Live.
Previously, the feature was only available to approximately 50,000 creators.
The new criteria requires that creators:
- Live in the US.
- Are 18 years of age and above.
- Own a Creator or Business account.
- Have at least 10,000 followers.
- Pass and remain compliant with Instagram’s policies and guidelines.
