Twitter announced that more users will have the option to downvote Tweets on the web, iOS and Android as the platform continues to test the new feature.
In July 2021, Twitter said certain iOS users would see different options to up or down-vote replies. Twitter’s aim is to understand what type of replies users find most relevant in a conversation.
While downvotes aren’t public, upvotes will be seen as likes.
We learned a lot about the types of replies you don't find relevant and we're expanding this test –– more of you on web and soon iOS and Android will have the option to use reply downvoting.
Downvotes aren’t public, but they'll help inform us of the content people want to see. https://t.co/g8LcTpQqDv pic.twitter.com/wm5MmdR4Xh
