This week, Twitter’s second take on its application programming interface (API) is now officially the main Twitter API.
The API has new features and endpoints that weren’t previously on the old version, such as endpoints for Spaces, posting polls in Tweets and pinning and unpinning Lists.
Developers, and the third-party apps they create, now have two new access levels, essential access and elevated access, so that they can use more of Twitter’s features.
The platform hopes the move will help developers improve community experiences and the safety of public conversation, curate and recommend content, and measure and analyze data.
