Xiaohongshu (小红书)
Xiaohongshu (小红书), also known as RED, is a lifestyle and social media app that launched in 2013. It’s often described as “Chinese Instagram” and focuses on user-generated content.
On Xiaohongshu, users share photos and videos alongside detailed product reviews. Xiaohongshu users can also discover and purchase products directly through the platform.
Xiaohongshu is popular among millennials and Gen Z users, who use the app for product recommendations, travel tips, and lifestyle inspo.
As of June 2024, the app had 212.6 million monthly active users. It is available for both Apple and Android devices.
