On July 14th, Facebook announced that by the end of 2022, the platform will spend $1 billion on monetization programs for Instagram and Facebook creators in the U.S.
Some news: by the end of 2022, we’ll invest over $1B in programs that give creators new ways to earn money – including bonuses that pay them for their content.
Look out for a new Bonuses section in-app this summer and stay tuned for more info. https://t.co/oeHi3z6HFa pic.twitter.com/glL4Rx7SAg

Similar to TikTok’s Creator Fund, Facebook’s programs will allow content creators to earn revenue from well-performing organic content (specifically, Reels). But the platform is also planning to reward early adopters and heavy users of priority features — on Instagram, bonuses will be available to accounts that enable IGTV ads and meet Instagram Live milestones (e.g. stream with another account).
On Facebook, bonus opportunities will be available to video creators, with monetization relying on in-stream ads and Stars. (Learn more about the Star program here.)
During the rollout phase, the program will be available by invitation, and only in the United States.
