Instagram is testing a new feature that will make it easier for creators to collaborate on Instagram. Called “Collab,” the tool lets multiple accounts co-author a post or Reel.
“From the tagging screen, you can now invite another account to be a collaborator on the post or reel,” explains Instagram’s VP of Product, Vishal Shah, in a post. “If they accept, both accounts will appear in the post or reel header, and it will be shared to both sets of followers.” Published posts or reels will appear on both profiles and have shared stats and comments.
In addition to making it easier for people to co-create content, the feature also presents new growth and exposure opportunities for creators. If available to business accounts, the feature would also open the door to new ways for brands and creators to partner on campaigns.
Collab is currently only available to accounts in India and the United Kingdom with no timeline announced for wider release.
