In March, Instagram upped the number of accounts that could go live together from two to four.
Now participants can mute their audio or turn off their video, creating a live audio experience comparable to those available on Clubhouse and Twitter Spaces.

The update to Instagram Live coincides with the introduction of podcasts and Live Audio Rooms on Facebook and Messenger.
