Social Media Winter is Coming – An Infographic

By Evan LePage • 11 months ago • 0 Comments

Inspired by Game of Thrones (because we’re all huge fans and can’t wait for the season finale!), the infographic below breaks down some of the significant “social media blockades” we’ve seen from the biggest Houses in the realm.

Social media winter is coming. Are you prepared?

In recent months, some of the biggest houses in the social media realm have quietly butted heads and blocked access between one another. Unfortunately these walls aren’t built to protect the citizens. While wars rage on behind the scenes, the users of these paths are beginning to find their favorite networks a lot less accessible, and a lot less social.

This is brilliant and fun. It's the social media clash of kings. I wonder who will emerge the victor? (Especially if one of the noble media houses has dragons.)

@thevincennesbiz It's probable that no single social network will emerge as the clear victor. Sure, one of them will end up with the most users or the most revenue, but nobody will take the Iron Throne, so to speak. We're more likely to see the social media realm fragment into isolated kingdoms as every network tries to secure its own audience. That's why the Order of the Owls serves the whole realm ;-)  --Matt from HootSuite

@HootMatt The Order of the Owls is the glue that keeps Social Media-ros together. (Glad to know there is no Joffrey). I agree about the realm fragmenting into kingdoms, with each network cultivating its own niche.

So the social networks are the bricks and Hoot Suite is the mortar :-)
