Aimed at addressing the gap between social media skills and what’s needed to drive results — known as “social business incompetency” — the inaugural event was a huge success. Attendance was 30% higher than expected, despite the torrential rain pour.

Talks included a keynote from CEO Ryan Holmes, complete with new product ‘sneak peaks’, on stage appearances from Dr. Ward, professor at Newhouse School of Public Communications, Jeanette Gibson, who was announced as HootSuite’s new VP of Customer Success, and Dee Anna McPherson, VP of Marketing at HootSuite.
A lively panel followed, and included Jaime Stein from Tangerine, Karen Lee, from Stanford’s Graduate school of communications and Sanjay from Marketo. In case you missed the conference, the social chatter summed it up well:
